Last day for Christmas Delivery - 19th Dec

At Zinc, we believe adventures don’t stop when the temperatures drop. In fact, winter can be one of the most magical times to get outside. Crisp air, rosy cheeks, and that energising feeling you only get from moving your body in the great outdoors. Fresh air and a change of scenery work wonders for our minds and our little adventurers.

But we also know that braving the cold isn’t everyone’s cup of cocoa. So, whether you’re wrapped up and ready to roam or staying cosy at home, we’ve pulled together a list of low-cost winter activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Outdoor Adventures

1. Geocaching Treasure Hunt

Turn your local area into a real-life adventure map. Using a free geocaching app, kids can hunt for hidden treasures right in your neighbourhood. It’s free, fun, and feels like a proper expedition, perfect for curious minds and scooting explorers.

2. Winter Scavenger Hunt

Grab your Zinc scooter, wrap up warm, and head out on a hunt for winter wonders. Create a simple list, pinecone, frosty leaf, bird tracks, something red, a frozen puddle, and explore your local park. It’s amazing what treasures you can spot when you start looking!

3. Winter Photography Challenge

Give little photographers a phone or camera and set them a theme: shadows, ice, winter colours, tiny details. It’s a great way to encourage creativity, and you’ll end up with some frame-worthy shots of your winter adventures.

4. Park Obstacle Course

Turn the park into your very own adventure zone. Use what’s around you, benches, logs, hills and pathways, to create a fun timed course. It gets everyone moving, laughing and working together. Bonus points if they tackle parts of it on their Zinc scooter!

Cosy Indoor Fun

5. Indoor Treasure Hunt

If it’s just too cold to head out, bring the treasure hunt indoors. Hide clues around the house and let your little adventurers solve riddles, follow arrows, and uncover the final treasure. This one’s easy to adapt to any age or skill level—simple clues for younger kids, trickier puzzles for older ones.

6. Build a Blanket Fort

A classic for a reason. Grab blankets, cushions, and fairy lights and build the ultimate cosy hideaway. It’s the perfect spot to read books, play board games, tell stories, or simply let imaginations run wild.

7. DIY Craft Station

Winter is the perfect time to get crafty. Save leftover wrapping paper, Christmas cracker bits, cardboard boxes, tubes and anything else heading for recycling. Then spend the day making robots, rockets, houses, animals - anything your mini makers dream up. Low cost, big creativity.

8. Kitchen Science Experiments

Educational and exciting!! Try simple kitchen experiments like a vinegar and baking soda volcano, dancing raisins, or even homemade slime. These hands-on mini science sessions keep kids entertained for ages.
